joana-fitness-1Joana Canals is a tv anchor for Colorado’s Best and the Everyday Show, pioneering “Fitness Friday” and bringing smiles and positivity to people everywhere. But she is so much more than a happy, energetic presence in your morning. She’s a real person just like the rest of us.

I’ve been featured on the show a number of times to promote the cool things Skirt Sports is doing in the world. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know Joana as a true hero to real people with a genuine style and way of making people feel comfortable and appreciated.

  • Body image (in high profile careers)
  • Gaining 50+ pregnancy pounds on a 5’2″ body
  • Putting on a happy face when things are tough
  • Losing someone to breast cancer
  • Implants – the why and what now?
  • How to be there for people who are struggling
  • Staying sane through all of life’s curveballs

Finally – A few of my fave videos are here – it’s a little montage of Skirt Sports over the years!

Amazing episode. I NEEDED to hear Joana sooo bad today. I cried for the second time today and it was good. I connected with her on the loss of her sister to Metastatic Breast Cancer and the loss of her sister to addiction. I lost my mother in July to Metastatic Breast Cancer and continue to watch my brother battle addiction. Thank you for this episode and all of the other episodes of inspiration.

    • Joana Canals says:

Oh Angela, I feel so deeply what you are going through. I am so sorry for your loss. I dream about my sister all the time, good and not so good dreams. I am glad you cried with me, you need to keep crying and feeling as long as you need to. Lots of love going out to you. Joana

I just listened to this podcast and started sobbing. My mother died after a 20 plus year breast cancer battle in October of last year. I deeply appreciated the articulation of why Octobers are hard as it is such a constant reminder of sorrow. Thank you for sharing and sending love, hugs and admiration your way.

  • Joana Canals says:

So sorry to hear about your Mom. I know how you feel. October just happened to be the month she found for her initial lumps and when she was diagnosed. I hope it gets easier. It has almost been 3 years and I am still not to the point where I am not sad when I think of her. But it helps me to hear from people like you. Knowing that I am not alone helps so much. Thanks for reaching out to me and I hope I helped you in some way.

  • wonderful honest and informative show! Thanks
